Brenda Codispoti

Brenda Codispoti

Director

Brenda was born in Jersey City, New Jersey and is the oldest of six children. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Eastern Nazarene College. She taught English for over 29 years, including two years at Cumberland Christian School, 26 years at A.P. Schalick High School,and evenings and summers at the Vineland Adult Education Center. Brenda taught all levels of English-Remedial, basic skills, college prep and honors classes. She was an advisor for the school's literary magazine and was accustomed to using differentiated learning styles. In 1992 and 1994 she was listed in “Who's Who Among America's Teachers.”

Prior to teaching, Brenda worked as a technical writer for an aviation company, and as an administrative assistant. Brenda has taught both children and adult Sunday School classes. She plays the piano and has been actively involved in several positions at Millville Church of the Nazarene. She is currently on the Administrative Leadership Team and serves as the Church Board secretary.

Brenda has been taking courses related to daycare administration and curriculum for toddlers. She is delighted to be a part of Precious Hearts Daycare. “My favorite verse is from Psalms 37:4: 'Delight in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.' How blessed I am to have a part in the lives of His precious ones.”

Lead Teacher for Playful Puppies

Millie is the oldest girl of a family of nine. She has two grown sons and two grandsons. She has been an active teacher since age 17 (Sunday School, Girl Scouts and Children's Church). She has an Associate degree in Early Childhood Education (Ashworth University), and continues to take courses and workshops in early childhood. She has worked 11 years with children in a Crisis Group Home. She has also worked at a daycare as a relief teacher and Administrative Assistant. God laid a love of children on Millie's heart when she was still a young girl and He has given her many opportunities to fulfill her heart's desire. Now that she is serving as assistant head teacher and lead teacher, she gets to greet parents and interact daily with children. She says, “What joy this brings my heart! Our God is an awesome God! The moment I walk through the door in the morning, I am greeted with smiles and hugs from the children. They are so precious and I am so blessed to be a part of their lives!”

Lead Teacher/Caregiver for Frisky Foals

Donna is the Lead Teacher for the Frisky Foals. She attended Brookdale Community College in Lincroft, New Jersey and Monmouth County Vocational School in Long Branch, New Jersey where she earned her LPN. She has previous experience in daycare and was a teacher in an after school and summer program in Philadelphia, where she was responsible for lesson plans and organization. She raised two children of her own and for five years raised her grandchildren, including a grandchild who is autistic. “I believe God put us all here for a reason,” says Donna. “I believe my journey is to help others and be an example of kindness, honesty, and forgiveness.” She looks forward to having an enjoyable experience with Precious Hearts Daycare.

Lead Teacher/Caregiver for Litte Lambs

Sandi is a graduate of Vineland High school. She worked as a teacher's aid for mentally and physically challenged children, worked one on one with autistic children and cared for an infant and toddler in her home. She was in charge of her church's nursery for several years, helped with vacation bible school, and taught Sunday school for many years. She is very active in her church with women's and children's ministries where she belongs to the stitchers' club which makes prayer shawls, hats, gloves and slippers for the homeless. She has 4 children, which includes a set of twins. She said, “I thank God for giving me these opportunities to serve him, and look forward to whatever else he will lead me to do.” Be still and know that I am God. Psalm 46:10

Lead Teacher/Caregiver for Tiny Tigers

Casey is a graduate of Millville High School and is currently attending Cumberland County College. She is working towards an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Special Education. Casey previously worked at another daycare and was a personal nanny. She has taught Sunday School and is a member of Shiloh Baptist Church of Port Norris. Casey is also a member of the “Off Broad Street Players” Theatre Company. “With God all things are possible” is her favorite scripture, and she shares that promise as she cares for those she teaches.

Part Time Caregiver

Barbara has raised 6 children and has 18 grandchildren. She has been active in children's work in the church for many years. She presently works at Millville Senior High School in the cafeteria but comes to Precious Hearts mornings and afternoons to help wherever needed. She is loved by all the children and co-workers. Barbara is a great blessing to Precious Hearts Daycare.

Part Time Caregiver

Soli graduated from Vineland Adult School and as a participant in the New Jersey Youth Corps, took a 20 week course in Child Care. She has previous daycare experience and loves working with children. God has worked in her life as she trusts Him to meet all her needs. “Kids need good people who they can trust to care for them” is her belief, and she exemplifies this every day.
Ruth Benowitz

Ruth Benowitz

Part Time Caregiver

Ruth worked for 36 years at Comar, Inc. She praises and thanks God for the blessings in her life, especially for her husband, and her three children and her four grandchildren. Ruth has faced many challenges and knows that it is Jesus Christ who gives her strength and peace in all things. She loves children and has taught ten years in both Vacation Bible School and Sunday School and is currently the treasurer for her church. Daycare is important to her so that she might “love the children in a Christ-like way so that they see the love of Jesus.”

Part-time Caregiver

Denise Groff graduated from Delsea Regional High School and was a stay at home mom for 30 years. She has worked at a few daycares as well as watched children in her home. She and her husband, Chris, have two children. Her son Christopher and his wife Darcy have a son, Zack, her daughter, Missy and her fiancee, Jon, have two children, Nathan and Lillian. Denise's favorite scripture is Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Part-time Caregiver

Karen retired from the Cumberland County Sheriff's Dept. after 31 years as an administrative assistant. She is also a part-time aide in a second grade class. Karen and her husband have been foster parents for 10 years and have 6 adopted children and 4 grandchildren. It is evident that she loves children with her work here at the daycare and she also served as nursery supervisor at her church for 5 years.

Janette has a 4 year nursing degree and 20 years of experience. After 25 years of caring for children and adults in the healthcare environment she wanted to play and teach our infants and toddlers. She has two daughters and one grand-daughter. Janette does not have a favorite scripture but her favorite book is the Bible.
